Vitality Fitness inspires a sense of community – I wanted to be a part of fostering this sense of community and creating a non-threatening, supportive, encouraging and fun environment. I also believe in challenging clients to set goals, push their limits and celebrate their successes – big and small.

What is your favorite part of training/working at vitality fitness and what inspired you to join the team? I am inspired each time I walk into the facility and see the many people who are committed to their own personal health and wellness. Vitality Fitness draws genuinely good people who support one another – before, during, and after class. Also, the leadership, dedication and “realness” demonstrated by all staff members makes VF a safe and caring environment.

I believe in living life to its fullest so I try not to pass up the good things in life:) I am very dedicated to my health and wellness and regularly set personal fitness goals, whether it be increasing weights, running faster or climbing a steeper hill on my bike. I often use positive self talk…and grunting and groaning also works!

What is your favorite part of training/working at vitality fitness and what inspired you to join the team?My favorite part of working out at Vitality is the encouragement that I get not only from the instructors but from those I’m working out with. The atmosphere at Vitality is one of acceptance.

What do you find challenging in reaching your own fitness goals? How are you able to work through it? What I find challenging in reaching my goals is the nutrition. Coming from a sports where diet was imperative and maintaining a certain weight the idea of eating more to lose weight is foreign to me and a constant struggle. It seems to be a roller coaster ride when it comes to inches, so I’ve decided that I am not going to worry about the inches nor the weight and focus on how I feel and the gains I make in the gym and also be proud that I am continuing to show up and do the best I can for that day.

How long have you been with Vitality Fitness? I have owned and operated Vitality Fitness for the last 3 1/2 years, since June 2010.

What do you find challenging in reaching your own fitness goals? How are you able to work through it? Believe it or not, staying on track is quite challenging. I’m sure that’s hard to believe coming from a trainer, but it’s true. Like everyone else, life can and does get in the way. For me, I am also an emotional eater and I will eat unhealthy when I feel stressed or overwhelmed, so the nutrition aspect can be very challenging for me. I get through it by reminding myself that I am human, and some days are going to be great and some days may not be. Having compassion for yourself goes a long way.
