When you’re dedicated to a fitness regime and diet plan, it’s hard to let yourself stray from the path and indulge in your cravings. While you might’ve eliminated sugar, those occasional cravings aren’t something to be ignored.

When it comes to health and wellness, forbidding yourself to indulge in your strongest cravings can actually do more harm than good. While we often focus on the physical aspects of fitness only, your mental/psychological approach is just as much important, if not more.

Raspberry Chocolate Chips

Dark Chocolate Nut Butter Pretzels

If you already purchase pretzels from your local health food store, you can use these to create a delicious dessert treat. To make these, take two pretzels, lightly press them together with a dollop of nut butter, then dip the whole creation in melted dark chocolate and place it on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. If you’re really patient, you can put the whole tray in the fridge or freezer to enjoy the hardened treats at a later time. 

Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

Parfaits are simple, sweet, and healthy. All they require is Greek yogurt, granola, and your choice of fruit. While many people think of fruit and yogurt parfaits as a breakfast starter, they can also be prepared as a delicious dessert replacement. If you want to make things a little more interesting, try layering your parfaits in small glasses for a fancy display. 

Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes or Muffins

All that you need to make these delicious treats is a box of Duncan Hines Spice Cake mix, a can of pumpkin, and ½ cup of unsweetened applesauce. This recipe typically makes about 15 or 16 cupcakes and most people are astounded to find out that each cupcake only contains 150 calories. 

Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries 

Yes, you heard that right! From the name alone you can see how this would be an extremely popular dessert treat at any gathering. They’re also quite healthy, as three delicious cheesecake berries only amount to a total of 100 calories.

When you’re sticking to a very specific diet or workout plan, it can be hard when people offer you delicious treats that you’re trying to stay away from. As we mentioned earlier, it’s sometimes healthier to consciously give into your cravings rather than torturing yourself to avoid something that you desperately want. These healthy desserts are just a few examples of how you can satisfy your sweet tooth without compromising your health and fitness goals.
