Fortunately, there are a great many summer recipes available that are not only healthy, but they’re also incredibly delicious.

If you cook at home a lot, it can be easy to fall into the rut of making the same four or five dishes over and over again. Maybe you switch things up from time to time and throw a new recipe in there, but with the other pressures and responsibilities of life, it can be difficult to commit much time to experimenting in the kitchen.

However, there are many benefits to continued experimentation with recipes in your kitchen, and the summer months are a great time to find cheap, hormone-free produce to incorporate in a number of new summer recipes.

Here we give a brief overview and a link to three fresh and easy recipes you should try out this summer:

Honey Glazed Chicken

This recipe for honey-glazed chicken includes information on how to make a green pea and mint sauce to go with the chicken. This recipe requires about ten minutes of preparation time and twenty minutes of cook time. The finished product will serve up to four people, depending on how hungry everyone is!

For the honey glaze you’ll need honey, balsamic vinegar, four whole, bone-in chicken breasts, olive oil for grilling, salt, and fresh ground black pepper. To make the green pea and mint sauce, the recipe calls for two cups of frozen peas, a half cup of white wine vinegar, chopped mint and cilantro leaves, a grilled or roasted jalapeno, salt, fresh ground black pepper, olive or canola oil, and honey.

Sausage and Pepper Skewers

This quick and easy grilling option is great for a large barbeque with a “potluck-style” approach. This recipe requires fifteen minutes of preparation time, fifteen minutes of marinating time, and fifteen minutes of cook time. The finished product will include a well-presented side of couscous in addition to the skewers.

To make this recipe you’ll need one cup of couscous, two bell peppers, one package of chicken sausage cut into one-inch slices, one large red onion, one cup of cherry tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, kosher salt, fresh ground black pepper, fresh parsley, cilantro, scallions, and white wine vinegar.

Grilled Ratatouille Salad

This light and refreshing salad creation is perfect for the heat of summer. The recipe requires thirty minutes of preparation time and ten minutes of cook time. You’ll be able to feed at least four hungry mouths with this one.

To make this amazing salad, you’ll need one small eggplant, kosher salt, three medium tomatoes, one zucchini, one red bell pepper, one small red onion, three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, fresh ground pepper, red wine vinegar, and a half cup of fresh basil leaves.
